Mud Run

I going to participate in a Mud rum tomorrow, this will be my first and I'm looking for any advice you veterans can give me, ie: punch the throttle down from the start, steer clear of the ruts...whatever advice you feel a newbie might need.

The only for concern with mud is when the trucks with you have bigger tires than you. Other than that have fun.

I don't have the time nor cash for a snorkel right now, other then staying out of the deeper mud is there any method to prevent it from being sucked in?

This I had thought of, is water readily availble at these events..I mean I know it takes water to make the mud but is it usually around for folks to wash down the trucks after?

Not locked front or rear and praying I don't break anything, this is my DD and I'll be a couple hundred kilo's from home, costly towing bill.
So if my thinking is right I should have OD off, ECT on, be in 4H and pin it!!!!! and not let up or I'm sinking!! Should I maybe swap over to my 31x 10.5 Hercules Terra tracs? Or would it make much of a difference?

mud tires would make a big diff.. because they clear the mud.. where my a/ts just get plugged.. dont worry if you get stuck there is someone there to pull you out... have fun def go at it in 4 hi...if its a fairly straight non bumpy ride giver...

Get some bottles of water or something if there is lack of running water. And stop by the nearest carwash and clear everything out.

Keep the muds on, they will help you.

Well it saddens me to say "I didn't do the run" my friend talked me out of it as we were there in my truck and no other vehicle and an hour 45 mins. from home he didn't want to risk a break down...Makes perfect sense really but I left there pretty disappointed. I would have been the only toyota there, many jeeps, a lot of samuri's in the 4 banger category, all in all it was a pretty good day. I'll be in the next one, going to bring another truck/car so I have a way home if anything breaks.
