?motor swap?

so...i think my truck took a crap...sounded to me like it was about to throw a rod through the block..something IS broken.and its gettings tossed around inside the motor...so im thinking a motor swap is inevitable unfortunately..

BUT since i almost have to do a motor swap...why put another wimpy little toyota motor in it...why not go with some more horsepower...i do NOT want the 3.4V6...no...i am not going with a toyota motor..and im thinking either 5.0HO 302....305 chevy...or a 350 chevy...which would likely be the easiest..can somebody point me in the direction of a decent website with nothing but motor swaps..or products to make everything go smoother..thanks alot

Check out downey toyota. They have an engine conversion book that might help answer some questions about V-8 chevy swaps into a toyota.

It helped me put a sb 327 and a th350 tranny into my toyota, but there are other issues too. They just don't drop in and bolt up.

If you have any questions too, let me know. I can help..

I moved this to the Newbie Tech Section.
This topic has been discussed a lot and there are countless threads on which motors are better for which applications.

I would try a search for the different motors you're looking for and see what you come up with.
When you pick one, go back into the Swap sections and post it up so we can see how the build goes.

Good luck and sorry your motor crapped out on ya.

i'd go with the 350, its the same size block as the 305 but with more power... and tons of parts and are extremely common
