Miss matched Differentials?? i need help
I just recently bought a 1989 toyota 4x4 pickup, and am having
some trouble figuring out what is wrong. When i lock the hubs into
the lock position, and try to drive, the rear wheels are turning but not
very well, and it feels like the front wheels are rocking side to side.
Anyone out there know what i should do or whrer i should start.

Does this occur in the dirt or only on the pavement?
Is the truck stock or has it been modded?
To determine if you do indeed have different ratios F&R...
Jack the front end of the truck up and spin the front tire slowly, while you do this count the number of revolutions the front driveshaft makes. Now do the same to the rear, this is a rough way to determine what the gear ratio's are. 4 turns of the driveshat to one revolution of the tire is about 4.10's slightly less than 4 revoultions is about 3.73's. You get the idea.

differenteials
so far I have only had it on the pavement. I have yet to be able to get the darn 4 wheel drive to work. I will check the rotation problem.
do you have any idea what else it could be?
