Max Tire Size for 17" Rims

Hi all getting my new 07 4Runner Fri and was wanting to know something. I'm sure this has been ask multiple times and has been posted elsewhere on the site but...I was wondering what is the max size tire compatable with the factory 17" rims. My friend has a later model Runner and he has 16's with larger tires and I think that looks tight. Anyway wanting to know how to beef up the look (as if it needs anymore) of my truck. without spending but loads for new rims. Well eventually anyways. Any help y'all can give would be great. And yes it's for esthetic purpose as you really can't go off road in Belgium as most of the land is owned by farmers. Also I have to go pick it up a good distance away. How many miles should I let it get before I go over say like...80mph? Gotta love the Autobahn but seriously how far?
