If your hubs are LOCKED, you'll be turning all your gears including the driveshaft up to the transfer case. Not a big problem I guess.
Make sure your diff is topped with the proper lube, same for your Xfer case, keep the Ujoints greased, make sure your CV boots are good.
drive! its winter!!!
Well, you pretty much always have to keep all that done.
Regarding the xfer case, remember that even in 2wd with your hubs unlocked (assuming that you have manual hubs) you're still turning through the xfer case for the rear driveshaft.

I had a bit of a drop in MPG when I started running my hubs locked, but then it could be attributed to something else, who knows... (I get about 5 to 8 mpg anyway....)

From looking at the grand scheme of things, I would have to agree that the increased drag would be relatively negligible considering....

What about front tire wear? I thought that looked hubs on asphalt (sp?) would make a diffrence in front tire wear.

No. There is no difference regarding tire wear between locked and unlocked. The vast majority of us have ADD front ends. With an ADD front end, the cv shaft has a solid connection to the wheel. If the wheel is spinning, the cv is spinning with it. Always. It's the same as having your manual hubs locked all the time.

Why would you think that ?
What reasoning would you have for it ?

No, it doesn't matter a bit.

You're NOT in 4wd when the huibs are locked (unless the xfer case is in 4wd).
