Lurching in first and second gear
Hey Folks,
I recently purchased a 92 Toyota Pickup, 4x4 22re, manual tranny, Deluxe Short Bed Regular Cab. The engine has 214xxx miles on it, Thorley Headers and Magnaflow exhaust, cold air intake. Everything else looks stock. The engine seems to have plenty of power.
The issue I am having is when I depress the gas pedal while letting off the clutch the gas pedal feels crunchy. Now when I have the engine off and depress it, it feels smooth.
Also, if I am in first gear going 5mph in a parking lot and let off the gas, I get a thunk and it almost stops, slows way down, not smooth. If I am in second and completely let off the gas I get a hard fast deceleration as well.
I haven't tried anything yet but after searching forums I have come up with this:
Basic Tune up, caps and rotor, wires and plugs, fuel filter, PVC valve and slave cylinder, 02 sensor as well as the timing TPS or a transmission/clutch issue. Any thoughts based upon the description as to what to do/what the main underlying issue is? Thank you
