Lift Kits and Exhaust

Im new to toyotas and trucks in general, im in the process of picking out a new tacoma and will soon want to add a couple inches of lift and maybe get something to make it a bit louder. However, i do not know where to even begin looking. Any recommendations on brands or websites to look at? If i wanna add sound to my truck pretty cheaply what are my options for doing it that are legal.

Helps if we know what truck your building... engine/tranny/ etc

Also, need to decide if your are building a truck to wheel, or cruise for chicks at the mall.

Many companies make lift kits for Tacomas, google it. But start with places like roughcountry, then check out trail-gear. And decide where you want to be in the middle.

I have a 93 and a 2012. I will advise against spacers and recommend you look at Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks and an Add a leaf as the lowest grade suspension set up option. It is a quality set up and many run it. However, for slightly more money you can get an Old Man Emu full lift kit. This is my personal favorite (short of Icon, which is spendy stuff). Toytec website has "the ultimate lift kit" with the 5100s and OMEs lift kit both for sale if you wanted to compare. Tacomaworld also has a very long debate going back and forth in a thread comparing the two. . . I would say to you to simply do it right the first time so you don't have to keep dropping money on fixing what you half did in the first place

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. That's the constant battle my buddies have with their trucks, they look nice but they don't function properly and sacrifice comfort ability when just going from A to B on the daily. It's not going to be a monster truck, I just want some clearance for bigger tires and to look nice. Thank you.
