Which lift and how much?

Alright I got an 85 extra cab 4x4 and am looking at lifts. I was thinking about a Rough Country 3" lift. After making some phone calls I have not heard very good things about Rough Country or Tough Country. So I got to looking at Superlift, Trail Gear ect. I am wanting to run a 33x10.5 BFG MT for now. I do mild to moderate off roading now but have plans on things like Browns Camp here in Oregon. Which lifts do you all have and what set ups seem to work best? Trail Gear having full Military wraps seems like a winner but there rear leafs require moving the shackles around and I am not to keen on the idea of moving shackles when everybody else sells rear packs that don't require moving them. I am not really into rock crawling, so do I need to worry about my rears having that much articulation. I called NWOR and looked at there system and they tried to discourage me from a high steer kit, saying it was a waste of money. I think it would be wise to have as less damage if from nothing else tree stumps here in the North West. Will a 3" lift give me enough spring to clear a high steer or do I need to go bigger? Will a 4" look stupid running 33x10.5 tires? What have you guys done, and have you done lifts only to pull them off and go with something different.Thanks for the input I just don't want to waste money, rather do it right the first time and be done with it rather than pull it off in a year as I would not be happy with the performance.

You can clear 33x10.5 tires in most situations without even lifting the truck..

Yeah I know but the front springs are sagging pretty bad and need to be replaced, rather than buy some stockers and new shocks, because they need to be replaced, I figured it would be wiser to replace with lift now and be happy.

you sould go with a high steer setup for sure so it will be out of the way. also if you dont care about flex than you can go with the cheaper lifts(Rough Country or Tough Country) but they will have a rough ride. in most lift kits you get what you pay for. you might call marlins and ask about there lifts.

OME. Springs, shackles, greasable pins, and shocks. It'll cost you about $1200 which I'm sure is more than twice the price of the cheap kits but it's a very good setup. It's advertised as 2 1/2" but you'll get at least 3" out of it.

I think 3" isn't quite enough to go with high steer. I installed a Marlin tie-rod with FJ80 tie-rod ends and stayed with the OEM steering configuration. The tie-rod is above the centerline of the front axle so I personally don't think the high-steer does much for you wrt clearance. Most go to it to help eliminate bump-steer but unless you're a hard core rock climber that probably isn't a big issue.
