leaf spring questions

HI i have a 1980 yota L/B that is lifted with 35's but the springs are going bad so I just bought a lift kit off craigslist the springs are pro comp and they measure 43" from eye to eye but the springs I have on my rig now measure 47 in the rear and 47" in the front whats the deal? the springs i just bought were on a 1985 yota. Did i just screw my self or can they work once i put a load on the springs? thanks for your time

Yep.

How did you measure them eye to eye? Along the length of the leaf spring or across the air?
