Knock Sensor New and old HELP

Knock Sensor New and old HELP
these are the old on left new on right, the kit is different , old are like a cup , the new are just a round guramet ,caps have bigger hole then old , does it matter ? do you need caps ? how are pigtails tested ? DC power on or ohms ? HELP , THANKS
