Just picked up an 00 4runner

Hello to all. I just picked up a 00 4runner on saturday with just under 90K. It is my first toyota but I have worked on my friends toyotas. I am very excited about the new addition to the family. People seem to love these things. I figured that it was about time that I joined. I used to have a very heavily built 01 jeep grand cherokee w/ 35's, beadlocks, Currie ford 9in axles (front and rear w/ ARB lockers and 4.86 gears) ARB front bumper and custom rear bumper. It was a great rig but it was eating up the pocket book. I still want to wheel but not to the extent that I was doing with my jeep. This will also be my first experence with IFS. I am interested to see how well it works. When I was looking for a 4runner I wanted: hood scoop, post 2000, 4WD(given), under 100K, under $13k. I got everything I wanted. The PO even kept this thing upto date on everything. The maintenance book has the stamps all through it. I am sure that its going to be a great car. SO enough with the talk and on to the good stuff!

Thanks for lookin!

Nice, looks like a good buy. What are you changing first? And welcome to Yotatech.

did it come without the running boards? or was that your first mod by removing them

thats a awesome lookin 4runner, yeah you can do little to make it offroad worthy for beginner to intermediate, lift and a rear locker, 33s would be the best start and wont have to worry about much

keep us up to date

Look at your roof rails; the three in the middle are bound to have a bunch of dirt and whatever else managed to squeeze itself under throughout the life of your truck. Take 'em off and clean whatever's underneath, chances are it's quite dirty under there as it's never been cleaned.

Actually yes it did come without the running boards. Another reason why I went with this one. My wife has short legs and she hates it, but its just a good excuse for rock rails.

Nice truck! It's great when you can buy it from a owner who obviously cared about it. Looking at those pics makes me miss my 4runner
