Jack placement

Hi,
I have a quick question. On my 97' 4x4 Tacoma, there is a plastic plate under the truck about 4' back from the front bumper with about a half-foot wide cirle imprinted into it. Is it okay to jack the truck up from there ir will it do damage to whats beneath it?
Thanks alot
James

Plastic? Are you sure you're not talking about your metal skid plate? Anyways, if that's what you're talking about, then yes, there is a crossmember above that circle that is safe to jack from. Double check to make sure we're actually talking about the same thing before trying it though.
