Two things:

1. Maple Ridge, where?

2. What makes you think you need a lift?

be nice the more the ground clearance the better for new wheelers as long as they dont go huge and roll it

See the "Newbie Modification" thread stickied at the top for more explanation why, but

Armor
Gears/lockers
Tires when the ones you got are wore out
Lift when YOU decide what YOU need for the trails YOU run - that might be no lift (it is for me), mild BJ spacer, longtravel, or SAS - but it's not for us to decide, it's for you depending on how you use your truck

Trust in lift to clear the rocks is misplaced. No matter how much you lift, the rocks are bigger and always win. Either learn to pick lines that avoid them, or better yet, armor up so when you make a poor line choice you have a chance to learn from that mistake without having to be towed home or doing a lot more maintenance than normal, and diluting the fun of 'wheeling.

Ahhhh, at least it's in the Newbie section

If you think that lift provides ground clearance why don't you crawl under your vehicle (and this is always a good thing to do now and then to check things out) and see what's the lowest thing that can hang up and then explain to me how a suspension lift (in and of itself as that is all that's been discussed here) is going to solve that problem..

drapes97,
As already asked, why do you think that you need a lift ?
Sounds like you're totally new to 4 wheeling.
You should learn to drive your vehicle off road first (and NEVER alone).
Find some others who wheel and start going out with them.

The first thing that you'll want is armor. At least underbelly, sliders and rear/side protection.

In general, a good rule of thumb (and it will save you money in the long run), regarding any mod to your vehicle, is to ask yourself what problem(s), specifically are you trying to solve and is there more that one way to solve the problem(s).

Its in BC, Canada near Vancouver... duh

There's lots of wheeling near you. You could be a redneck and go play in the mud at Stave. You could drive up the West Harrison FSR- there are lots of spur roads and trails that are fun I hear.

The best mod you can do for your truck for the money is an automatic locker. Click on " *Aussie Locker* " in my sig line. Lockers send torque to both tires on an axle instead of getting stuck and just spinning one tire.

I got a locker because of matt16's writeup on his.. Get an Aussie locker, makes a world of difference, and a good set of 31" Mud terrains, and maybe a set of balljoint spacers and extended length greasable shackles, you'll be able to go more places then you could ever want, the only thing limiting you then is your willingness to accept body damage, hell I'm rockin a 4" IFS Lift, 3" Body Lift, and 2" Home-Brew lift, and have 33's, and that aussie locker.. My buddy andrew's truck has 32's and a locker, no lift and he can go everywhere I go.. Its all about traction... Get a locker, or FAIL.
