Installing a second battery in the rear of a '00 4Runner......
I am constructing a sleeping platform for the rear of my Runner and want to install a battery and power inverter under in. I was thinking of two ways to charge this battery:
1) Install battery cables from the 2nd batt to the front so the battery will charge when the vehicle is running, I am wondering how much work is involved here.....?
2) There is a power port in the rear of the 4Runner and i was wondering if the made a battery charger that would just plug in there?
Anyone done anything like this and have any suggestions?
Whats the cheapest and simplest solution?
Thanks in advance.....

You need to run some battery cables to the rear battery, with a solenoid or isolator. The rear power outlet is only on a 15A fuse and doesn't have enough power to run very much.
This is one way
