input on my 92 lift ideas

I just bought a "new" 1992 4Runner. I love it. its a solid truck. Power everything which i like cept that 3.0 and auto combo depresses me.

ANYWHO....

it has the 4Runner sag going on and a few mechanical things i need to do. Just want some input on what I've been thinking and researching.

also I'm 22 years old and trying to get married so i want a good mix of low price with high quality

This is not a trail rig, just a daily driver.

1. The rear sag:
Its got the normal sag going and that really bothers me cause my 3 trucks and 89 4Runner had no sag but these old coil overs are tired.
A. Now i've heard about these Rear spacer lift/leveling kits. They go under your stock springs to give it a little lift. (I'm thinking 2.5" rear with a 1.5" ball joint lift too)
B. Or I've heard about using heavy duty Land Cruiser coil overs. Haven't looked into those and i have no idea what year(s) they'd come off. But i heard they'd give about an 1 to 2 of rear lift. any input on this topic would be great.
C. And your ideas......go.

2. Ball joint spacers:
I don't want a huge full IFS lift (been there done that). I just want a little extra bump. I'm eying the 1.5" spacers. Maybe bigger tires in the future?
A. First off at BJ spacers even a good idea?
B. How do they work when replacing my stock BJs with some fresh ones. (a BJ install link work be nice)
C. How is the alignment issues? Are my coworkers going to hate me when i ask them to align it? What else do i need to do get the lift other than just install the spacers?

here is the link to what I was thinking about buying...(IDK if there working)
http://www.amazon.com/Rancho-RS5145-...1992&carId=001

the eBay:
is back works so i wont be getting it. it was 2.5" BJ and 1.5" rear lift

or

h ttp://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/CoilSpringSpacer.shtml

The 4crawler:
1 Pair 2"/50mm Coil Spring Spacers and
1 Pair 1.5"/38mm Ball Joint Spacers; US Delivery
- $194.00/set plus $14.00 for insured Priority Mail shipping

Now, i was thinking this would be a good time to replace my shocks too. right?

Also, i didn't search much but is there a curtain shock i will need or should get for my "lift"?

is the a curtain length of shock for a 1992 4runner?

I assume these will work? Are the front and back the same length?
http://www.amazon.com/Rancho-RS5145-...1992&carId=001

The Amazon:
the shocks are Rancho RS5145 RS5000 Series Shock for around $50
Ten-stage velocity sensitive valving
5/8-inch (16mm) diameter piston rod
1-3/8-inch (35mm) diameter piston
Protective boot included
Provides tuning specific for each vehicle
(I have no idea what that means, just copy and pasted. that's why i need your help.)

If it's just a daily driver I wouldn't even bother lifting it since it's unlikely you'll run anything bigger than a 33.

I'd just fix the sag. Not sure how that's best done on a 2nd gen.

I guess i could just leave the front and level the back and then i could use that money on wheel spacers and fender flares.
It does have a good stock lift and yeah i won't go bigger than 33s

I want exhaust, 1" wheel spacers, fender flares. i need some Power steering work and a quick tune up (Plus, cap, rotor, plugs) new CV axles and front and rear pinion. but other than that we're good to go.

You want wheel spacers? I wouldn't put those on unless it was needed due to wheels not fitting, SAS where your front is narrower than the rear etc.

For the rear sag, I would put on some new coils or find a good set of used ones, don't put on spacers with the worn out springs that's a band-aid, not a fix.

Good luck with the new 4Runner and get us some pics.

I'd go new coils for the rear. I got a set of pro comp rear coils for 90, but i'm sure they sell them in smaller sizes. Your also going to need a pan hard drop bracket and a lspv bracket if you lift the rear. As far as bj spacers go in the front, if you go that route change your ball joints at the same time, its a good time to do it. Also I'd recommend getting a diff drop to keep your cvs happy and a sway bar drop bracket too. You will need to get new front shocks as well as i learned. mine are about 1-2 to short and are actually holding my front a-arms from dropping as far as they should. Either due to the shocks being to short, or the new dimensions of the a-arms, my upper a arm hit my tire so I had to throw wheel spacers on front end. you can get all the brackets from 4crawler. Hope this was helpful.
