Lookin to import a 1991 land cruiser with 249,000 Km on it from Dubai. What to be lookin for. Can’t communicate with the seller. The pictures look real good and super stock. No lift, originall wheels no rust super clean. By the time I get it home about $10,500.

Personally, I would get the local bomb squad to run a dog over it. Yeah, I know, sounds somewhat anti-muslim-ist, but having been a Marine, paranoia was a survival trait. Given all that's going on in the world today, though...
Good training for the dog and his handler if nothing else.

Other than that, check/replace the fluids, ALL the fluids, make sure the tires aren't old/stiff/dry, and that the drive line, both front and rear, and wheel bearings are well greased. Check the timing belt over real good, check/clean the battery terminals, make sure all the hoses, and the radiator, are in good shape. Check the ball joints, upper and lower both sides.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of important things, but that's all I can think off right off the top of my pointy little skull...

Thank you for the reply. I’m a mechanic 50 years all the maintenance stuff is covered and they do a inspection before they list it. Even though it’s probably pretty superficial. I’m more interested in any inherent problems of the model itself as in the 2.4 and tranny stuff like that. . And also looking for info on flat towing behind our motorhome.
