ID this please

Was putting the top end back together, using photos and white out spots for reference I now notice that this didn't have a vacuum line attached previous to my taking things apart either. Appears to have gotten it from the PO without also. Can't find on vacuum diagram or in the FSM

There may not be anything attached to that nipple

All I know about it is that it's a VSV. If it's the one I'm thinking of part of it has fallen off or broke, I don't know if would still work correctly or not.

So at some time the filter broke and fell off.

I am sure with a little thinking something can be found to work

All it does is keep more junk from being pulled into the engine.
