Did you try searching?

Here's one: http://www.superlift.com/tire_chart/chart.asp

There is a better one out there, I just couldn't find it.

also, youll need a whole hell of a lot more than a lift to run tires that big. differential gears. probably 5.71s for tires that big, but gears that big are weak so you wouldnt want to take it offroad like that. steering upgrades (hi-steer). better brakes. etc etc. SEARCH. this website is loaded with information about things like this.

Nope the link says 79-85 Pickups need 3" of lift to clear 31s. That leads me to believe the whole chart is bad info.

or you can even run a smaller lift if you trim the fenders and slap a body lift on it i just dont like the looks of a body lift

you dont necessarily NEED anything to run bigger tires, but to do it RIGHT you do need it and gears. you also have a different generation truck than the OP so the fitment is not the same as on your truck. i do agree with no more than 6 inches. ESPECIALLY if it will get taken offroad. i just want the OP to know it takes more than a lift to slap on tires that big and go. do lots of research.

ya but its a first gen they look different but they fit tires about the same at least on my first gen it did and high steer reallly just saves u from smashin steering componets on rocks or watever else but yes gears are needed if u plan on driving it on the road but if its just a mudder u dont have to u might just burn your clutch up your clutch faster.. ive wheeled lots of toys with 38s and stock gears does fine in 4 low

just do a 4 inch lift and some trimming with some 5.29s itll be slow but the gears wont be as weak, ill never go over 36s on a yota with a 22r/re its just too much without changeing diffs, t-case gears and what not. unless you do what cres said, mudd it, which 4lo u can move a house with stock gears and a 22r!

Do rears up front and chevy 63's in the rear, trim the fenders some so you can fit big meats and have a low COG, it would be a cheap wheeler that could go anywhere with lockers.

Lol I mentioned the ditches its a place were all my buds go play at its not someone front yard. Its a place we call the ditches were I live ppl can go play and not get in trouble for it. I done the kid thing when I was younger lol got my butt chewed a few times . But were we play the bottom is hard its just deep is all kinda like a rock bottom with alot of slush in it most of the time

ah i see well i would run chevy 63 in the rear and rears up front that will give u about 4 inches nots so tall but if you dont really need to flex just go with 6 and go from there see if u need to trim fenders or a body lift or wat
