I bought another 87
So i just got another toyota pickup i had an 87 and it was a great pickup but i got rid of ita big mistake anyways i got another 87 about a month ago i traded my a lifted chevy thinking i would get better truck. Well it started out running rough so I thought just adjust the distributer that didn't work so I had to redo the timing chane the guy had it backwords I fixed that and then found out that there was no part of the head gasket were the timing cover is it was not on the head or anywere so after doing the head gasket I thought all was going to be good now I need a carb so I bought one today for 30 bucks score one for me lol but i was driving it home the other day and my speedometer quit and i need to do brakes now all i can do but the only real question i have is i noticed when ever i push my brakes the right turn signal light on my dash comes on but no blinkers and when i have my blinkers on they go fine when im driving but when i have my right signal on and then push my brakes they blink like as if one of them is out but front and back both work they blink fast. My left ones are fine but it puzzles me why the right side would do that if anyone knows what it could be please help lol

1. That is the most confusing paragraph I have ever read.
2. A "Lemon" is a new car someone has reoccurring issues with, and despite bringing it in for service at a dealership for the same issue usually 3 times.
3. What your situation is...you made a bad trade.

Problem 1: first problem was buying a truck from a non-mecanically inclined person.
Reason, the P.O. replaced the timing chain without removing head (which is ok) but was not careful about watching the head gasket and most likely pinched it, realized it too late and cut that section out.
Problem 2: Spedometer quit most likely because the cable s either broke or pulled out from the back of the gauge cluster. Or. the P.O. removed cluster to replace it with an sr5 cluster with tach and damaged the speedo when trying to turn the odometer back to what the original one was.
Problem 3: Sounds like the P.O. had issues with the left tail light and wired the brake light and turn signal light bulbs backwards. Might take som trouble shooting to fix as the wires are probably crossed between the two light bulbs somewhere. Most likely at the tail lamp assembly. Have a friend look at the taillights and ensure the right bulbs are illuminating when using the brakes/parking lights and turn signals. Also try removing the brake light bulb and then activate the turn signal and step on brake to see if it still blinks fast. If it does not then you know the P.O. wired the turn signal to the brake light bulb somehow.
