Hi I recently purchased a 91 4runner and one of the only issues I'm having is that the hood binds up by the firewall... So I was wondering if anyone knew an easy way to adjust the hood w/o tearing off the fenders? I tried loosening the bolts holding the hood on but it did not slide at all PLEASE HELP!

 

The hood on my 89 2wd sets back a little to far after hitting a deer, and the only way I can see to adjust it is to stretch the hood hinges. There was not any adjustment on the firewall end, and bending the dip in the hinge is about the only I can see to adjust it.

 

There are 2 bolts that bolt the hood to the hinge on either side, with a helper, loosen the 4 bolts, move the hood around (there's not much room for adjustment but there is some), then tighten them back down when you're satisfied.

Patience is your friend with something like this; you'll probably end up adjusting it 3-4+ times before you're happy.
