home made fender flares?

home made fender flares?
I made a post about mud tires, and someone said somthing about making fender flares out of garden edging, so how would i go about doing that. anyone ever done it or have any other ideas? sorry not sure what category to put this under... thanks

The best way to describe it is roll out the edging so it lays flat on the ground
now pick it up and fit a piece to the under side of the fender well so it is sticking outwardly giving the extra 2-3 inchs of fender well extension and cut to fit
then with some self tapping screws screw it into place on the lip of the fender so that it sticks out as far as possible covering the tire sticking outside the fender and repeat on the other three wheel wells.
