yo guys im new to this this place im trying to get some info i have a problem with mt toy but only the head problem i got a 1981 - 1984 22R Cylinder Head
Square Intake Port and Round Exhaust Port on top of a lazer block and it didnt do that great cuz i ran a 98 linkage chain and not the original 96 links it ran for about a week and just snapped the 98 linkage i was wondering if i shave the head down to use a 96 linkage(ORIGINAL) chain would the valve hit the pistons???...... please let me know need my ride up...the original head is from a 1985 - 1995 22R-22RE Cylinder Head
Square Intake Port and Pear Shape Exhaust Port witch is hard to find here where im at....

 

You need to do some searching and reading. Sounds like you crossed up parts that don't go together and shouldn't be forced to do so.

It has been so long I can`t remember if the valves would hit.

Does your block have the domed pistons or flat?/

You might want to check out Celica-GTS.com they live the 3rd generation Celica 1982 -1985 22rec engines

I know there a bunch of threads dealing with just what you are.

my block has the flat top piston and it is a lazer block the head i got is from the year 1981-1984...
i understand the 20r head hybrid conversion but not this head it is a 22r but not the one i need i need the head from the year 1985-95 but im just trying to save a little money im on a budget so if anyone knows of anything like wat i have pls let me know wat u did thaks!!
