Help with Lift Types and Ball Joint Angles
Hi everyone, I have been doing a lot of reading on here and other forums but still have some questions.
It seems with IFS trucks that any lift more than 2.5" in the front with a spacer is a no go, especially if one does a healthy amount of off-roading. I run Daystar's 2.5" kit with AAL and strut spacers, the ride was harsh so I upgraded to Moog coils and Bilstein 5100 shocks with the front set at 0 and it rides quite nicely.
I don't off-road, but I worry about the ball joint/control arm angles. I have read that many ditch the spacer lifts and go with toytec 3" coils with the 5100, but wouldnt that cause the same bad angles? Guys seem to swear by coils being safer but they're still pushing the control arm down. My angles (New CVs and lower ball joints btw) for some reason aren't nearly as harsh as the pictures I see online with spacer lifts and I'm not hitting the coil springs either. Should I keep this lift combo or ditch the spacer and upgrade to a toytec/ome/eibach spring?
Thanks for the help!
