I'm new to the toyota world but I just got this 81 4x4 5 speed and the tach,fuel,temp,volt and oil press gauges don't work.Its driving me crazy I've tracked wire made sure sensers are hooked up but nothing even took the insterment panel out to make sure they where hooked.any help would be great maybe there's a relay somewhere I don't know.

 

you checked the fuses under the dash? i know it sounds dumb but it happened to me. for the volt and oil pressure gauges there is a a 5 amp fuse block hanging off the positive battery terminal on the 20r. I don't imagine it is that different on the 81s. look for a little black plastic box looping off the fusible links. also, it might be a good idea to see if the one of the fusiblelinks have blown.
