Head Issues...?

1990 4runner 22re
So i thought we blew a head gasket, so i tore it down, gakset came apart so i couldnt tell if thats what it was, I took the head to a shop, they checked it out and said it wasnt cracked, wasnt warped, they did resurface it anyways.

I replaced the gasket, put it all back together , and it still blows water, i let it run for about 10 minutes, still blew water, and now had water in the oil...

I assumed the gakset must have gotten damaged when i installed it or i might have a crack in a cylinder...so i tore it back down, and everything seemed fine, gakset was ok, and i couldnt see any visible cracks in the cylinder. So i replaced the gasket again, and put it all back together and same thing....still blows water.

I just did a compression check and when i crank it over 3 times i get, numbers 1, 2 and 4 at 120. And number 3 wont go over 90 even when i keep cranking it over...

I really hate to pull the block now, but does that sound like the problem ???

You may or may not have a few things going on. First how may miles on the engine. Second, did you notice that the timing chain guide rail was broken when you took it apart to do the head gasket?

Is it only blowing water into the oil or is it also blowing water into the cyls and smoking as well?

x2 on the timing chain check. My buddies chain wore into the water jacket, wasn't pretty.

I had a shop do the rebuild on the engine, and i installed it about 5 years ago, so not alot of miles. I had set the cam sprocket right ontop the rails, so they werent broken...I reset the timing to TDC and it seems to start right away with no problems.

it is blowing water right away, a bit of a drip til I gas it, then I get a nice poof of smoke. I double checked the hoses to make sure i didnt plug a water line into the wrong spot, it all seems to be back to the way it was before .

what about the compression being low in #3 does that say anything ?

Did they pressure test the head or mag it? How is the intake plenum? I don't think that would cause it but since some coolant runs through it wouldn't hurt to check it while its off.
