gnarley vacuum leak

I was driving home the other night and I heard a noise from under the hood, kinda like a bang... I was able to drive home ok, but I heard this loud vacuum leak. I looked under my hood this morning, and I noticed this part missing, and I am trying to figure out what it is and where I can get it

The part in question is the hole that has the vacuum cap on it in the bottom left of the pics. I put a hectagon around it... THANKS!

I can't see it either but if you have a manual the best place to start looking is probably the emissions diagrams. Where they show you the sensors and the vacume line routings....Or post a larger pic for us. Good luck.

wow i have never seen something like that happen. I think it is normally just plugged up or something. Does it run fine beside idling bad from the leak. Might try starting it up and putting your finger on it and see what it does. Id probably just cap it off till i was sure what it was.

There is supposed to be an adjuster screw there for your idle. Don't ask me what it's called but I have one in mine and when I tighten it my idle drops and when I loosen it the idle raises. I'll get a pic of mine on here asap.

That is VERY important, and you don't want to simply plug it up. It's the "Idle/Air Adjustment Screw", which has an o-ring toward the bottom. You'll not find it at the dealer(I've tried), ...not even the O-ring... but you can get one to fit at Napa or something like a specialty Auto parts/hardware store. If so, make sure it's aluminum friendly.(Personally, I'd be hitting the junk yard). Only problem ,now, is WHY did it pop out? Either the threads are completely gone(not likely) or the o-ring dissolved and the thing just backed itself out by vibration(my guess).

Call your local yard and ask for one. They might not separate it from the throttle body.
