which generation is best?

which gen do you think is all around best, as in comfort, handling, and off road capabilities, alot of my family members have just about every kind of toyota from 77's to 2010's but i like early to mid 80's the best, especially solid axles.

90-95 4Runner. Great body style with added/improved features, plus the same qualities of the 86-89 4Runners.

The last of the solid axles, an 84-85 PU or 4Runner. 84-85 have the strongest front axle design. I'd want an 84-85 LWB PU(Regular Cab Long Bed). An 84-85 LWB PU has the same wheel base as my 88 LWB PU(Regular Cab Long Bed), with the same body style, and a solid front axle. The only thing they lacked in 84-85 was the V6. But that's an easy fix. I really do love my 88 though, I just don't always love the IFS.

Id love an 85 Runner. But Im very happy with both my 87 runner and 92 Excab. I prefer the older truck, seem simpler to work on.
