Gearing

Hello i got a 89 toyota with the v6 3.0 engine with a flowmaster and a 4" body lift. I just put 35" tires with 15x10 daytonas and now im wanting to gear it but cant decide what ratio to go with if the 4.88 or the 5.29's i mostly stay on the freeways because of work and offroad here and there but not much! Can you guys give me some good advise? Thx

Pull out the body lift.

Kidding aside, with an auto, go 5.29, with a stick go whatever you want, either will be good.

How is it pushing those tires around right now? It is a 3.0 so there's not much you can do in the way of power... 4.88's should be good for you that's what I run with my 35's in my 91

From what I read when I searched, 3.0 auto, 31" 4:88, 33" 5:26, 35" (I do not know it they are made for our trucks) 5:55, 37" 5:79
These should make your speedo read close to spot on.
I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong...

Ya stupid 3.0. I hate the fact that it makes more torque and horse power then the 22re. It just darn right bugs me to the point of wanting less power. Im thinking about pulling 2 plug wires in my 3.0 to make it fit in with the cool kids.

You know he's not going to search or he already would have. Soooo..

For mostly commuting.

35's + 3.0 =
4.88 manual.
5.29's auto.
