Funky noise

So I've looked everywhere I can on almost every toyota forum i could register onto and I'm stuck...
I had a noise that started in the front ended up being clicky axles fixed them that noise went anyway but I could still hear the orginal noise. So today I swapped out my transfer case with a new one because that was making a think noise. well that noise is gone and now I've isolated the original inconsistent thud sound to the rear of the truck. It has no rhyme or reason to it. It happens when I'm going slow or fast, hit the brakes or floor it.. the truck is a 96 tacoma extra cab v6 4wd automatic. Could I need to AAL? I thought it was the gears in the rear end or drive shafts but it's not consistent. Shocks in the rear are new the spare tires locked down tight. My hitch isnt loose I have tightened everything that's under there and I cant figure it out. Anyone have any ideas ? I'm down to its cursed or I'm just going to drive it till what ever it is breaks and that will tell me what was wrong 🤦˟♂️
