Front brake pads

A lot of websites specify that pads are intended for 4wd. Mine is a 2wd 1981, but is there a difference in front brakes between 2wd and 4wd? Also could anyone recommend a decent midrange brake pad? Not sure what to look for as this is my first time dealing with brakes. It's a city truck so they don't need to be high-performance, but it would be nice if they lasted a while.

I use both the Napa Ultra Premium or the Pads from Toyota .

Napa # for rear wheel drive is UP7047 that will give you a place to start

Yes there is a difference between the 2wd also known as rear wheel drive in some catalogs and the 4x4.

Then with a truck this old who knows what might have been swapped as far as calipers

Best thing is totake the old pads and match them up.
