Front axle seal

Front axle seal

Alright so I replaced both cv axles and the driver side went smooth the passenger side started leaking so replaced the upper seal that goes into the differential and it is still leaking so I am thinking I messed it up some how do I am going to get a brand new one and try it again does anyone have any other ideas of what else it could be

Axle seal

It's a 2005 toyota tacoma 4x4 v6 automatic

Thanks bud it's alright I believe I got it fixed replaced the seal for the second time and seems to not be leaking so far I have to put some gear oil in it today just to make sure it's not just empty

Sweet! On the 3rd gen 4Runners you have to be careful not to knock into the seal when you put the cv shaft in. There's no lip for the seal to rest against, it's just a certain amount of millimeters in the housing. Is the 05 Taco similar?

Well bad news is it's still leaking and as far as my buddy told me the axle is supposed to go back even further then what I have it now I have no idea I am gonna 32nd up taking to the yahoo and have them take a look that's my last option unless there is a bearing that's broke
