Freeze plug in back?
Hey guys,
In the course of working on my son's truck, I noticed that it had a slight water leak. After checking it out exhaustively, I believe it is leaking out between the engine and the tranny. It is a slight leak (maybe 1 drop per minute), it eventually quits after sitting for awhile (no pressure on the cooling system I believe). It is not leaking out at the bottom of the bellhousing, but appears to be between tranny plate and oil pan. It runs down the plate covering the flywheel on the engine side. There is no water coming out of the bellhousing at the drain hole. Sides of the engine are dry. All hoses, radiator and heater are dry. The only thing I can think of is does the 22r have a freeze plug in the back of the block? The oil is very clean, and there is no evidence of water in the oil either on the stick or under the cap. The truck runs fine. I really don't know alot about these engines, but I know I sure don't want to have to replace an engine because of a cracked block. Anywhere else to look or anything to check? Thanks for any help!

That's it, I bet. That picture says it all. I sure appreciate you guys helping out. I might not be out of the woods, but if there had been no freeze plug, I would really be in trouble. Thanks!
