driveshaft/ t-case shifter ???

When I am in 4lo and under load (climbing anything) my driveshaft flange grinds on the horseshoe that connects to the t-case linkage. When it does this, it causes the t-case to jump out of 4lo into 4hi and sometimes as far as 2hi.

Is my driveshaft out of balance or is there a bigger problem?

Tranny and t-case is the A340F.

Molly's does the same thing, but I never heard/saw any grinding - sure it's hitting the collar?

There is a bushing on the bottom of the horseshoe that might be worn out ... it was on Molly's, but fixing it didn't keep it from popping out of gear.

Yeah, it's hitting the collar, I found metal shavings on the collar. I already replaced the metal "shims" inside the barrell at the bottom of the collar. I'll check the buching when I get home.

Molly, if you want to chime in and let me know how you ended up fixing your's I would love to hear it. I am open to anything.

She fixed it by blowing the motor - hasn't popped out of gear in about a year ... but then it hasn't moved either! LOL
