Does anyone have a picture or several of what the driver side door jam switch should look like on an 87 runner? I have mine apart and it doesn't look right.
Took "jumper" wires to the wire that I suspected to attach to the switch and it started the buzzer but had no dome light.

ALSO what the heck is this deck lamp switch? None of the trucks I have seen do anything when the switch is flipped... What is it for?

 

The light switch might be turned off on the light or the bulb is burnt out.

if the buzzer works it is good

Deck light switch is for the back porch light bulb burnt out bad switch who knows

 

Thanks. Uou wouldn't happen to have or know where to find a picture of an in tact door jam switch would you? I cant even find aftermarket ones for sale.

 

I looked up that part on rock auto. it shows a pic with one red wire only, as the switch itself, (the body) is the ground. I'm not sure, and i'm betting it's not the same color as the stock Toyota wire.

I just googled 87 4 runner door jamb switch, and I think it was the 2nd or 3rd link. the rock auto one. hope this helps.
