Hello my boy friend owns a 83 yota pickup, man. and 94 toyota 4 runner auto.
The runner trans is down, we where wonder if the 83 trans could fit in to the runner? If you have question to help further answer my question please ask.

more than likely the 94 4Runner is an auto with a V6 and it won't work with the earlier transmission. If the 4Runner is a 4 Cylinder and a stick it is possible with a lot of work.
the stock 79-83 Transmissions (L-series) are 4" shorter than the later 84-95 transmissions and would require that the crossmember be moved forward, the rear drive shaft would need to be lengthened.
you are better off finding the correct transmission IMO.

Someone `s reading skills are slipping to many videos perhaps.
To answer your question you could do the swap but it would be very labor intensive .
Then you may need to have both front and rear drive shafts made not to mention installing all the clutch hardware and hydraulics . Not to be forgotten is an all new clutch kit!!!
If you search auto to manual swaps there has to be lots of threads.
The fact your going from vehicles so far apart in years makes it even more difficult.
Yes it can be done Only you can decide if it is cost effective.
Time wise two people who have worked well in the past if all goes well and you have all the parts a good weekend .
This is in a shop with all the tools you might need and then some
Then Mr Murphy`s daughters are always running off with the tools you need.
