cold start injector

just got a 85-1/2 toy.....noticed that the cold start injector is wired to a switch next to the e-brake...obviously this is something someone installed, i understand what the purpose of this cold start injector is but the real question is why someone would want to do this and is it hurting anything?????????????

I would bet that who ever did that was having problems with the cold start injector not working, and instead of fixing the problem the corect way they rigged a switch in the truck to operate it manualy. alot of times the thermal time switch will go bad and the cold start injector will not operate properly or at all. It would be a good idea to hook it up as it should be and then figure out why its not operating.
