Code 52 how to diagnose

Aloha guys. I probably read almost every code 52 forum, question and replies. I have a 94 pickup 3vze. Took it to a shop because I blew the head gasket. So I had that fixed, along with timing belt and water pump. I fixed a handful of other codes, now just dying to get rid of this CEL...
I want to test if there's even any signal going either way to the ecu or the sensor. I have a multimeter. What setting do I put it on?
I've bought and installed a brand new pigtail from the dealer (under $20) and the light still comes on a moment after take off lol.
