Hey Wyoming You might be right on target but I found out that my problem wasn't bleeding problem it was a pedal and body mount combined. Both were broken and I didn't see the pedal mount until I pulled it out. It was on the door side in the back hidden out of view. So I can't say this time for sure but I did get gears back even with broken mounts with gravity bleed.

Hey everyone! This past weekend, we got the truck in the shop and began the process of installing the new clutch. Took about an hr and 15 min to get the tranny/transfer case separated from the engine. Springs were compressed, flat metal pieces from the cover assembly were broken off, and the flywheel had a sheared bolt. After about 10 min, we got the bolt out and replaced, then installed the new clutch and buttoned her up. I cant believe the difference. It shifts like a hot knife through butter. Thanks for all the advice!

Hey MacGregor! Just did the clutch in my 89 p/u 4WD last winter, I got a tranny jack from harbor freight, worked like a charm. Was able to do it all myself with the lift, just be patient, be careful, use common sense and you won't get hurt or damage anything. I replaced the rear main seal AND the manual tranny seal while I was in there. They were both a piece of cake, just use good shop manners with your truck, keep things clean and organized and you should have no trouble with it. If I can do it, you can do it.

We generally don't delete posts as they serve as help for people with similar problems. Usually a post will only get deleted if its deemed offensive or inappropriate. I know I have used other people lessons to fix my problems more times than I can remember.

Edit: if you want to unsubscribe form it that is possible. That way you will not receive emails and or alerts when someone posts to it.

I only wanted to delete post that had no content in it, not the information post. I accidentally posted it twice, then edited the second on to ask how to delete the one not need. LOL
