Christmas Time
Hey guys christmas is comming up. My parents are willing to buy up to $500 worth o[GVIDEO][/GVIDEO]f parts for my 85 toyota. I know I've researched a lot on lockers, lifts, tires. I hope I don't offend anyoneposting this question. But what should I get first? I plan on going wheeling. Btw my truck is stock. And I have tools to do anything. Besides a tube bender. Thanks!

No way would I run a spool on a Daily Driven truck, especially if I had no job to buy tires often... A spool will chew up tires on pavement.
I would go Aussie or Soartan if I had to have a cheap locker that's safe in a DD. not Lockright... The locker plus E-code headlights is what I would do.

going wheelin with no job?
lol its going to cost u more than $500 eventually, use the $500 to buy a 3inch lift and make it look good get a job and worry about wheelin later especially if its your DD (daily driver) it breaks down and u have no way to get anywhere.

Haha thanks guys. And yes I'll go wheeling AFTER I get a job
I guess I'll just use the money for gas. And if I break anything I pretty much have 2 of everything (Got an 84 for the motor and stripped and kept everything for $500)

Why does he need a lift? He doesn't have big tires, he can only do mild trail riding because if he breaks anything, he doesn't have a job to fix anything... Much less get it towed from where it may break.
My vote is be practical. Belts, hoses, etc. Possibly brighter lighting for the safety aspect. All joints, tie rods, etc are lubed and tight. Fresh oils in the front/rear diffs, trans, t-case. Engine is sealed up. All these things are very important issues. These are the things that will get him to work reliably. A lift isn't necessary to go off road, but a reliable drivetrain is...

^^^ that's what I recommended but apparently his truck is up too par, good for him
and I always thought a cool lookin truck is better than a reliable one, I mean if you break something on the trail, at least your rig looks good just sitting there… un-drivable…

Thanks for the comments guys. Everything is up to date since the truck was sitting for 5 years and I had to put a different motor in it. Its my first vehicle so I've learned a lot. I'm going to get some LED lights
Also a little truck box to keep my tools and some parts in. I might be employed within the next 2 weeks. Then I'll get a locker and some sliders.
