Does anyone have instructions how to eliminate the charcoal canister on the evap system on a 2002 tacoma?
The engine light is on and the truck wont pass emissions. The code thats coming up is for the canister. I want to elimate the canister and make the computer believe that its still there and operating correctly so the truck can pass an emissions test.

 

Then you'll likely fail the visual inspection?

 

Not only will you fail but you could get a hefty fine depending where you live.

Now i am curious how you plan to have the ECM show the evap test has run with no faults.

Here if the test has not run even with the MIL not on your vehicle has not passed.

Just fix it could be as simple as a bad gasket on the gas cap
