Changing a trashed cab w/same year?

I recently rolled my 84 pickup and have already pulled the same truck out of the junkyard but would just like some heads up on what to start on if I am just swapping the cabs out? One of my friends told me that I will still have to pull the motor to change the cab and if thats the case then I would just throw the motor into the junkyard truck.. To me that does not seem logical to have to pull the motor but anybodys input would be appreciated, Thanks, Ian.

You don't have to pull the motor. Just unplug EVERYTHING and lift the cab/front clip off. Tell your friend he doesnt know what he's talking about

as Jay351 said, you should not have to pull the engine. Just be sure to mark everything you unhook...
You might find this FSM link helpful, it starts with 85's but some of the stuff should pertain..
Did the new cab come with a title? Post up some pictures when you do the cab swap..
