I bought this pickup a few months ago and I'm having to use it for my daily driver while my other pickup is in the shop and I just noticed that this is not how it should be. I have tried searching to find what the part is but I can't come up with a for sure answer of what it is or if it is even needed. Its the part that has the broken plastic piece that's attached to the rubber hose. The pickup is an 86 with the 22R and a five speed. Any help would be appreciated.

 

I'm not real familiar with "22R motors, but that looks like a electronic air control valve or Idle air control valve.
Hopefully some of the 22r guys will confirm.
A more panoramic pic would probably help.

 

That's the electric valve for the Air Injection System. Part number 25720.

It looks like you have a California truck. That's what I had as well.
