Bumper suggestions.

Don't you folks love my noob threads? Sure you do.

Anyway, I've got the mechanical problems that came with my project 4Runner resolved. Took several months, a few hundred bucks, and more than one stupid question threads here and elsewhere, but I'm finally to the point where I'm comfortable adding on some fun stuff. 33s are on the way, and once they're on I'm thinking about adding a bumper.

So, I'm leaning toward something medium duty, to get me through moderate/heavy brush and keep the truck from getting too banged up if I bump a deer or antelope while driving back and forth to the ranch. Be nice to mount a little winch on there too.

It's a 95, IFS, stock suspension, might get a 1.5" lift a ways down the road, but that wouldn't be for quite a while. Any suggestions? Ease of install by oneself without a lot of modification and affordability are high priority.

Thanks!

I've got trail gear bumpers front and rear, they're tough as hell and all you have to do is remove the stock bumpers and mounts and bolt on the new stuff. As far as how tough they are, they should stand up to a deer.

Do they just have the Rock Defence fronts? A quick look at their sight and that's all I saw, they look nice, and I really like the rears, but I don't need the stinger (I think that's what it's called, still new to all this).

I did google 'em, and decided to post here because there are a ton out there, and I'd like to hear people's first hand preferences. I do like the looks of the AOR bumper, even with stinger.

The chances of me fabbing anything, out of anything, are pretty much nil

I am almost completely caught up on my orders right now. My goal is to have a few on the shelf by the end of next week.

I will also be releasing more of a pointed stinger version for the same price this week. I promise that it won't block the headlights though.

If I could do it over again I'd have ordered my stuff from Scotty.

Scotty's bumpers are better fitting than the others and look better to. They are worth the money.

Ditto Scott, he can even make the stingerless version if you aren't going too hardcore. *Bonus is he used to work for a big name shop and is now doing his own stuff!

What about a Marlin minus a stinger? I know I saw a really clean one off of a '95 posted over in their product support forum for a 2nd Gen 4Runner. Can't get the pic to link here though..IIRC he also had to "hog out" or "dremel" his holes. You'd think a place as big as marlin would have a decent jig by now or toss out the worn out overheated one.
