Brush Guard

I'm doing a low budget long build. I planned on getting a brush guard but I don't have 500 dollars to spend so if anybody knows where I could get a good brush guard for kinda cheap, and if not the specifications/lengths to make one. I have some friends who are great at welding and if I buy the steel and give the the measurements they can make me a great one. Any help would be nice.

Yeah I saw that but I was wanting a full one that covered lights and everything lol. Think I should buy that refurbish it and add bars to it? it mounts already so I'd just have to add the bars

Dude, for 40$? You could probably have your friends FAB the rest by bending some tubing for ya, welding on some mounting plates and voila, for about 80$ total, ...(that's IF you have that shipped), you should be fine. Hell, you can probably buy those pieces separate, ya know?

best wishes!

I checked on Ebay a bit since he's looking.... Most of the decent ones are around 200-375$ for the complete kit he's looking for. Sometimes Ebay does get used ones still, but most seem to be on CL now, ya know?

You don't need the end caps...just take the driver's side off

Those types of guards are mainly for looks. One good hit and youll be pulling it out of your radiator.

Save up your pennies and invest in a real bumper.

X3. My buddy had one on his Tacoma and he got into a fender bender going like 15 mph and almost totaled his truck. The grille guard destroyed his radiator, hood and fenders and did quite a bit of damage to the frame where it was mounted, and almost destroyed the engine. After I saw the cargnage I took off my damage multiplier the next day and sold it on CL.

He fixed his truck and was able to get an ARB with the insurance money since the accident wasn't his fault. I am just going to save my money for an ARB, Shrockworks, etc. They are pricey, but definitely worth it in the long run.

I haven't heard that in a while but it's the truth. Those damn things don't provide any protection in an accident. I will say though that the chrome ones are pimp when hanging out in the Old Navy parking lot.

So true! I never even wanted to use my PIAA 520's when I had them mounted on my grille guard because they would wobble and shake with every little bump in the road. It was really annoying and it made my head feel like:

mine came with it and just never took it off, i don't really like it since it is mounted directly to the bumper. mine use to bounce when i first got it but i re tightened it all down and it doesn't now. when i get a arb or something made to replace it mine will be coming off and to cl it will go...

Well I decided I'm just gonna buy some tubing and have my friend make one to just to bolt directly onto the frame. it will look like the Addicted Offroad newstyle winch bumper but I'll have to buy a winch later.
