is Borla the only catback for 2nd gen 4Runners?
I have searched & I have found Borla listing a catback for a 1994 4runner
well dynomax makes one but its not stainless.
Are there any other companys that make a catback for the 2nd gen?
Also are there any Borla dealers on the board?
Thanks

Jardine makes one that I know of. I have a Borla on mine. It was expensive as heck but it's held up well. Most people just buy a good muffler and take it to a shop and have a pipe made. It's alot cheaper that way.

Actually, for something like this, mandrel bent tubing isnt going to make a damn bit of difference. If you were talking like 3 inch tubing on a turbo car pushing 20+ pounds of boost, then it would be worth the price. Here, if you had a decent muffler with crush bent tubing dyno'ed next to the borla, I bet you wouldnt even see a 2hp difference....

F0RSAKEN mandrel bent is always better then crush & I would bet that there is more then 3 hp difference.

No doubt in my mind that mandrel bent tubing is better in any application; we're trying to squeeze just as much extra hp out of our engines as a 20psi turbo
Personally I'd just put a free-flow cat and a cheap-ish (dynomax or something similar) on it and be done with it. That should only run about $250 installed. You're not going to gain a whole heck of a lot of performance from any cat-back system; probably the same as you would with a free flow cat and new muffler. A cat-back AND a free flow cat would obviously produce more than both.
These are my opinions only- and I'll share why, whether you wanna know or not
1. I can't warrant spending lots of $$$ on an exhaust that could be ruined by 1 rock.
2. The most restrictive part of the exhaust on a 3.0 is the crossover pipe. Personally I'd start with that and upgrade the rest from there. An exhaust is only as good as its most restrive part; just like an intake.

Rusty you make a good point about rocks but I will always do stainless exhaust as it will not rust out.
I have an RS*R on my Integra & a Magnaflow sitting in my floor for my Civic
both are full stainless catbacks
I have to start with the catback 1st as my muffler has a hole in it.

hi all, sorry for reviving the old thread, but i think it makes sense to continue here.
Is there another cat-back system that one can still buy nowadays? the only one i find is a stock replacement, but i would love to get a throatier sound.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
