https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f120/toyota-faq-66255/ information about tires and gears here.
Body lifts don't give anything in usable suspension travel. So depends on you. Mall crawler or a real wheeler.

i have 39.5's on 5.5" of lift, but i did the RUF so my front axle is 3" forward and I added a substancial sawzall lift to it too hahaha but it wheels like a champ and i still have the stock 4.10's!!!!! you want to talk sluggish.... i have a buick v-6 and 4.7:1 low coming soon to help.
Oh, and my truck never goes faster than 45 no need to even on the highways up here. i did get it to 65 once.....going down hill, for a while hahaha

So, now that everyone has cimed in with their advice, how about we go back to basics:
What all have you done to the truck already?
How are you planning on using it?
Is 37's as big as you would ever want to go, or are they just a stepping stone on the way to 40's?

Yessir it is , a ongoing thread on a 30 year old truck, that has ongoing and forever questions and answers. The thread grows from people adding comments . People search the same things over and over. They come across these forums seeking answers and opinions on others experience. I just threw in my 2 cents

I know this is old I’m putting this on here if anyone might need the info but you don’t need a body lift for solid axle it’s not too bad of a task but you can put rear springs up front you’ll need trail gear shackles front and rear and you’ll have to weld on some taller shock hoops up front and cut your inner fenders to fit im running 37x 14.5 nittos they just rub the leaf spring's a little at full steer and rear of the fenders at full flex it’s basically a custom 8 inch lift there’s some good videos on you tube

A lot of folks poo-poo body lifts because they don't add suspension travel. However they do make room for bigger tires.
