back of the taillights.
i bought my truck back in aug. i have a few posts on here about it's problems. well , I'm slowly working through them. the newest problem I'm having is my left turn signal is not working right. i push on the brake and the dash light for the left turn signal lights up. it flashes fast. i went and bought new bulbs and went to change them and noticed it has taillights from an older model on it . could the problem be the flasher? if so where is it located . i know i sound stupid but i can't find it. also , does anyone have a picture of the back of the factory taillights? i can't tell if any of the wiring has been cut. the weather has been to crappy to crawl under it to check for botched wiring. i don't drive this everyday because i'm ironing out the bugs. PLEASE HELP. thank you.

its not on the drivers side in the cab? mine flashes fairly fast too. but just cause I the alt spins faster it gets more juice so faster flash. worse comes to worse just buy some cool led tail lights off of ebay. they have a ton for 89 and up

seen this problem before, it had to to with the trailer lights.
You see, toyota uses a 3-wire system, (separated blinkers and brake lights), but trailer connectors use a 2-wire system (combined blinkers and brake lights), they make an adapter to convert it, but somebody who doesn't know what they're doing will connect the brake light wire and turn indicator wires together and that ends up happening.
My suggestion is to crawl under the back and inspect all the wiring. Chances are you'll see some wires running over to a trailer light connector, remove them and see what happens.
