axle strength

I have a 1989 22re 4x4 ifs truck and just had a question. What sort of power can the front differential and rear axle hold? Any upgrades i can do to the axles to make them hold up? say i had like 400-500 horse but didnt want to lift or sas my truck? Its just kind of an idea ive been kicking around. I have the mechanical know how to do whatever i need unless it comes to custom stuff, that im still learning on.

Depends on what you mean by hold up, to what? What is intended use?? 400-500 HP with a heavy right foot and on rocks, prolly not. Like absolutely won't...

IFS will grenade.
the rear axle is comparable and some say stronger than a D44.
Put a narrowed 60 in the back

Red face

No matter how you build things there is always going to be a weak link .

Bomb proof the differentials then twist off the drive shafts

Been there done this broke lots of parts spent lots of money
