I have 1986 toyota 4runner with a automatic transmission. It wants to start out in 3erd gear when it is in drive. If I disconnect the wiring that the passenger side fire wall and then reconnect it will start out in low correctly one time. I have changed the solenoids. Any help is welcome. although no one replied to my post i have found the problem the wiring was old and had lost insolation around the wiring. Repairing those areas fixed the problem
