Allergic to water?

Hey guys, im still a noob after wheeling my truck everyday after 2 months -___- well the other day i was in a tricky situation and it ended up having my truck on two wheels with three guys holding me down to make sure i dont roll the rig. Anyways.. after that day whenever i go through a puddle or mud and water gets on the hood my engine just turns right off, im hoping its just an easy fix. thanks for any help at all guys

sounds like you hydro locked the truck.. take the spark plugs out and crank the motor til all the water shoots out where the spark plugs go..if truck as set over night CHANGE YOUR OIL!!!!!! if hydrolocked your oil will look like milk and you will be having one hell of a problem. also dry out your air filter.

From what I understand in the description, its not taking in big gulps of water, just a splash under the hood. It wouldn't run at all if it was hydrolocked. If you drove on wet roads after a rain would it shut off? What do you have to do to get it running again? I'm with the other guy in saying you have exposed wires or a bad ground somewhere.

Oh good point. Sounds like maybe he's getting water to the computer on the passenger side kick panel. I was having a random shut off problem when driving on wet roads look to see if you have any rust in your wheel wells

Yeah, something is loose under the hood. Check all your wiring, pay close attention to the TPS wire and connector, and the coil/igniter/distributor setup.

i can easily drive on wet roads and i can even go through big puddles as long as its very slow, there is no bare wires but there is one wire that is very tight, i guess ill start by buying a longer one and see what thatll do for it.

look for any kind of rust coming into your cab that could possibly short out the computer.i had the same problem i put a good 1000 into my truck and it still happened, then i come to find out after 1000 bucks that my computer was getting soaked with water.
